Technical Study for the Development of an Intelligent Management System for the collection of waste managed by the public company MARE, fruit of the collaboration of the following partnership:
The objective of the study is to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the use of volumetric sensors to optimize waste collection routes for paper-cardboard and containers compared to traditional collection, with the consequent savings in operating costs.
Implementation of 200 volumetric sensors to check the filling level.
Monitoring of paper-cardboard containers and containers with capacity 2500 – 4000 Liters.
Analysis of savings in collection routes in 3 different deployment scenarios.
The route optimization module allows you to use different settings (for example, containers with a level> 85%) to help establish which containers are optimal candidates to be picked up by the different vehicles available, as well as more efficient collection routes.
The data analyzed show that, in those routes belonging to municipalities far from the base of operations (far-off scenario), savings in operating costs close to 25% are estimated.
